Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position in the Business Development Department at GIZ is designed to support the systematic development of business strategies. The department focuses on identifying trends and future topics that align with the needs of clients and partners. Responsibilities include conceptualizing, managing, and designing company-wide business development processes and participation procedures related to political initiatives and strategies. The intern will evaluate business potentials, develop new and sustainable business models, forge new partnerships, and explore new thematic areas with business and innovation potential, while also assisting in aligning the portfolio with future changes.
Duties and Responsibilities: As an intern, you will be responsible for various tasks, including: assisting with organizational and procedural topics, such as analyzing and further developing business strategies, and introducing process management; supporting data collection, preparation, and analysis in collaboration with different units of the company in various formats; contributing to thematic areas, particularly in digitalization, university cooperation, and resource security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security; preparing, presenting, and communicating information derived from analyses using MS PowerPoint and MS Word, as well as on intranet and internet platforms; participating in departmental meetings and company-wide information events; and independently managing sub-projects related to the aforementioned topics.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should have a background in business administration, economics, or a comparable field of study. Initial consulting experience or international experience is desirable. Basic knowledge of organizational structures and processes is preferred. Strong strategic and analytical skills, along with a structured working style, are essential. Good communication skills, including the ability to prepare materials suitable for board-level discussions, are required. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) is necessary. Fluency in German and English is mandatory, and additional language skills are advantageous.
Educational Background: The position requires candidates to be currently enrolled in a degree program, participating in a training program that includes an internship as an integral part, or having graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.
Experience: The internship is suitable for candidates who have some initial experience in consulting or have spent time abroad, which would enhance their understanding of the role and responsibilities.
Languages: Fluency in German and English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills are considered a plus, which can further enhance communication and collaboration within the organization and with international partners.
Additional Notes: The internship is available for a period from September 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026, and can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis.
