Job Overview:
The Security Officer position at the FS-4 level is critical for ensuring the safety and security of UN personnel and operations in the area of responsibility (AOR) of UNTSO. Reporting to the Chief Security Officer and the Supervisor of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), the Security Officer will be responsible for a variety of security-related tasks. These include drafting and updating security contingency plans, monitoring local security conditions, advising UN personnel on security issues, and conducting security operations. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Security Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: assisting in the supervision of a Security Unit, drafting and updating security contingency plans, monitoring local security conditions, advising UN personnel on security issues, serving as a member of the Security Cell, conducting evacuation exercises, evaluating accessible areas, maintaining tracking systems, contributing to security risk assessments, monitoring and coordinating security operations, maintaining communication with security focal points, conducting routine physical security inspections, investigating inquiries into security violations, managing the Special Investigation Unit, collecting evidence and preparing reports, providing advice and training on security matters, coordinating identity card issuance and entry controls, managing a warden system, and performing other duties as required by the Chief Security Officer or Supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

Additionally, UNDSS Certification in the Security Certification Programme (SCP) or SCP Online is desirable.
