Job Overview: The Family Planning/Reproductive Health Commodity security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security (FP/RHCS) Specialist will play a crucial role in leading and guiding UNFPA's family planning strategy and national commitments in Nigeria. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the FP/RHCS Specialist include providing leadership and technical support for national family planning programs, advocating for integrated approaches to sexual and reproductive health, and mobilizing resources for the programme. The specialist will be responsible for capacity development, offering technical support to strengthen health systems, and ensuring the effective management of logistics related to reproductive health commodities. Key tasks include coordinating the quantification and distribution of supplies, overseeing procurement processes, and ensuring compliance with national standards. The specialist will also contribute to evidence and knowledge development by analyzing data and best practices in family planning and reproductive health commodity security.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in medical sciences, public health, pharmacy, logistics, or supply chain management. Professional qualifications in procurement and logistics are advantageous. A course in logistics, essential drugs, and management information systems is a plus. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in sexual and reproductive health, particularly in public sector pharmaceutical supplies management, with at least 3 years focused on health and logistics systems and family planning programmes.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in relevant fields such as medical sciences, public health, pharmacy, or logistics. Additional qualifications in procurement and logistics are beneficial, and candidates with courses in logistics and management information systems will have an advantage.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience at the national level in sexual and reproductive health, with a strong emphasis on public sector pharmaceutical supplies management. Candidates should have significant experience in family planning programme management, including policy and management aspects, and should be familiar with supply chain management, forecasting, and logistics information systems. Experience in public health systems in developing countries is also essential.
