Job Overview:
The Partnership Coordinator position at NRC Nigeria is crucial for ensuring quality programming through effective partnership management. The role involves supporting the Partnership Manager in ensuring compliance with legal regulations, financial requirements, and humanitarian standards set by NRC and its donors. The Partnership Coordinator will implement logistics responsibilities, including capacity building, procurement planning, market assessments, and management of assets and documentation. This position requires close collaboration with Programme Coordinators and the Finance Team to enhance partnership processes and deliverables, aligning with NRC's internal policies and sector standards. The Partnership Coordinator will also play a key role in training and coaching partners on compliance requirements, ensuring that partnerships are managed effectively and contribute to the overall mission of NRC in Nigeria.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Partnership Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
  • Contributing to a harmonized approach to partnerships between NRC and its partners, ensuring adherence to NRC policies and guidelines.
  • Leading the management of Project Implementation Agreements (PIA) with local partners, including conducting due diligence and organizational capacity assessments.
  • Coordinating the development of new partnership agreements and managing existing partnerships, including budget control and cash flow monitoring.
  • Training and coaching partners on compliance requirements and leading on the use of NRC's PCM framework.
  • Acting as the main focal point for partnerships-related issues, ensuring effective communication between NRC and partners.
  • Supporting the mainstreaming of safe and inclusive programming within partner projects.
  • Conducting partnership mapping and maintaining relationships with existing partners.
  • Coordinating organizational assessments and vetting of potential partners.
  • Drafting partnership agreements and ensuring compliance with NRC requirements. 1
  • Participating in the development and implementation of NRC's partnership strategy and operational methodology.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree or equivalent in social sciences, international relations, education, or development. A minimum of three years of experience working with NGOs or international organizations, particularly in partnerships and civil society strengthening, is required. Strong analytical skills, excellent project management capabilities, and good coordination and communication skills are essential. Experience in managing and coaching partners, as well as knowledge of anti-corruption best practices, is a distinct advantage. Candidates should also have an understanding of complex emergencies and crisis contexts, the ability to work under pressure, and excellent independent working skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Partnership Coordinator position includes a university degree in relevant fields such as social sciences, international relations, education, or development. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and the dynamics of partnerships in crisis contexts.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the NGO sector or with international organizations, particularly in roles focused on partnerships and civil society strengthening. Candidates should demonstrate strong project management skills and experience in compliance and capacity building within partnerships.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required.
