Job Overview:
The International Product Development Manager position is a full-time, home-based role within the Healthcare Business Solutions department of the American Heart Association. This role is crucial for leading the development of translated versions of essential healthcare content, including CPR and first aid programs. The manager will oversee the entire process from development to localization and translation, ensuring that all products meet quality standards and are delivered on time. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including project managers, volunteers, and subject matter experts, to ensure that the content is accurate and culturally appropriate. The role also involves fiscal management and adherence to budgets, making it essential for the manager to have strong organizational and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the International Product Development Manager include leading the development of healthcare content, managing translation and localization processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The manager will develop project plans, maintain fiscal oversight, and evaluate products throughout their lifecycle. They will also facilitate communication between teams, train and engage volunteers, and manage budgets and contracts. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for identifying challenges in product development and implementing solutions to ensure timely and effective project completion.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for this position must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, with five years preferred. They should have validated skills in translation, localization, and editing of scientific or technical content for diverse markets. Experience in leading product development projects and managing formal review processes is essential. The ideal candidate will have a high level of detail orientation, the ability to make timely decisions, and the capability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position, with a preference for candidates who have additional qualifications or certifications related to project management, healthcare training, or language studies. The educational background should support the candidate's ability to understand complex healthcare content and contribute to the development of educational materials.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of experience in relevant fields, with five years being preferred. Candidates should have experience in managing product development projects, working with subject matter experts, and participating in translation and localization processes. Experience in healthcare training or emergency cardiovascular care is also beneficial, as it aligns with the AHA's mission and the content being developed.

Languages:
While fluency in English is mandatory, proficiency in additional languages, particularly Japanese or Arabic, is preferred. This language capability will enhance the manager's ability to oversee the localization of content for diverse audiences and ensure that materials are accessible to a broader range of users.
