Job Overview:
The Logistics Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that the logistics operations of the mission are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position is responsible for overseeing the mission's fleet, facility, and warehousing management needs. The Logistics Manager will work closely with the Support Service Director to ensure that all logistical needs are met in a timely manner, adhering to ACF policies and procedures as well as donor and field guidelines. The role involves optimizing logistics strategies, managing inventory control, and coordinating transportation to support program delivery. The Logistics Manager must ensure compliance with ACF policies, donor regulations, and industry best practices while collaborating with various internal departments, field teams, suppliers, and partners to facilitate seamless logistics operations. This position requires regular coordination with program, finance, and technical teams to align logistics activities with ACF's mission objectives, as well as engagement with external stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective resource management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Manager is tasked with a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: overseeing logistics optimization by planning and coordinating transportation of goods, managing warehousing operations, and ensuring timely delivery to field locations; maintaining accurate stock records and providing monthly reports on stock levels and usage trends; managing fleet operations by monitoring vehicle movements, scheduling regular servicing, and ensuring compliance with local regulations; ensuring adherence to ACF policies and donor guidelines while preparing and submitting monthly reports on logistics performance; identifying and mitigating risks related to logistics operations; supervising and mentoring logistics staff to enhance their performance; and ensuring that the office infrastructure is well-maintained and compliant with safety standards. The Logistics Manager must also conduct training sessions for team members, facilitate regular meetings to align on priorities, and support the hiring and onboarding of new staff.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management and Logistics, along with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the humanitarian relief or development sector in a logistics or procurement role. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, with a strong working knowledge of English required. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel, is also necessary. The candidate should demonstrate problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines. Additionally, the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, as well as to conduct field visits at short notice, is required.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management and Logistics. This advanced degree should provide the candidate with a comprehensive understanding of logistics principles, supply chain management, and operational efficiency, equipping them with the necessary skills to manage complex logistics operations effectively.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of work experience in logistics or procurement roles, particularly within the humanitarian relief or development sector. This experience should include hands-on involvement in logistics operations, fleet management, and inventory control, demonstrating the ability to manage logistics in challenging environments and under pressure.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, proficiency in local dialects and the Arabic language is a requirement, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and team members. Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and reporting.

Additional Notes:
The position is full-time, and the incumbent will be expected to work at least five days per week, with the possibility of working outside normal office hours or on weekends as required. The role may involve travel for domestic and international business purposes, and the employee may be exposed to high-security risks and basic living conditions in the field.
