Job Overview: The International Humanitarian Nexus Coordinator plays a crucial role in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of UNFPA's humanitarian response in the Philippines, particularly in Region V (Bicol). This position requires the Coordinator to maintain collaborative relationships with national and local government entities, non-government organizations, civil society, and other UN agencies. The Coordinator will lead the UNFPA Humanitarian Response team, providing guidance and technical direction to implementing partners. Duties and Responsibilities: The International Humanitarian Nexus Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Providing programmatic support and quality assurance for ongoing UNFPA humanitarian responses.
Representing UNFPA in inter-agency meetings and consultations, offering feedback on GBV/SRHR issues at local levels.
Documenting lessons learned for knowledge management and undertaking field travel to crisis-affected areas as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in medicine, public health, international development, social sciences, gender/GBV, or related fields. A minimum of 5 years of international professional experience in sexual and reproductive health or gender-based violence is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have demonstrated expertise in one area and familiarity with the other. Knowledge of gender issues in development, particularly regarding SRHR and GBV, is essential, along with practical experience in programming within humanitarian and post-conflict settings. Candidates should also have experience in developing and delivering training components related to GBV/SRHR, as well as demonstrated leadership and team-working skills.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree in relevant fields such as medicine, public health, international development, social sciences, or gender/GBV is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of humanitarian responses and the specific needs of vulnerable populations in crisis situations.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in international sexual and reproductive health or gender-based violence.
