Job Overview: The Internal Corporate Communications Officer will play a crucial role in enhancing the corporate communications of the Executive Directorate (EXD) within the OECD. This position requires a dynamic individual who can quickly adapt to the fast-paced environment of the OECD and effectively communicate with various stakeholders. The Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications plan that aligns with the objectives of EXD/CSI, ensuring that all communications adhere to OECD standards and best practices. The role involves close collaboration with the Communications Manager and other departments to ensure a cohesive communication strategy that supports the overall mission of the OECD. The Officer will also be tasked with preparing and editing documents and presentations, ensuring that all communications are clear, concise, and tailored to the intended audience.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Internal Corporate Communications Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Supporting EXD/CSI management in achieving communication objectives by developing strategies that enhance the quality of communications.
Drafting and preparing reports and presentations to assist management in decision-making processes.
Developing and implementing targeted communication activities to effectively reach specific audiences.
Fostering collaborative relationships within EXD/CSI to maintain high professional standards in communications.
Acting as the primary point of contact for communication matters, ensuring effective collaboration with the EXD Director’s office and other EXD services.
Drafting and reviewing communication materials for external audiences, including Delegations and OECD staff.
Serving as the focal point for online communications, ensuring content aligns with OECD guidelines.
Supporting the preparation of corporate reporting and strategic planning documents for the Service.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in business administration, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field. A minimum of five years of experience in a communications role with similar responsibilities is essential, preferably within an international organization. Strong writing and oral communication skills, along with experience in editing, proofreading, and layout design, are critical. Candidates should have excellent knowledge of web editing standards and communication technologies, as well as experience with internet technologies. Organizational and planning skills, creativity, and the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of an organization are also required. Familiarity with external communications agencies is considered an advantage.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should have a university degree in a relevant field such as business administration, communications, marketing, or journalism. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for effective communication within an international organization like the OECD.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a communications role. This experience should ideally be within an international organization, where the candidate has demonstrated strong writing and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage various communication tasks effectively. Proven experience in drafting reports, presentations, and other communication materials is essential, along with a strong understanding of communication technologies and best practices.
Languages: Candidates must have a working knowledge of at least one of the OECD's official languages, which are English and French. Proficiency in the other language is also required, ensuring effective communication within the bilingual environment of the OECD.
Additional Notes: The contract duration for this position is initially set for 12 months, with an ideal start date as soon as possible. This opportunity is primarily open to serving officials but is also available to temporary staff. The salary and conditions will depend on the experience of the selected candidate and their status as either temporary staff or an official.
