Job Overview:
The Project Associate position is integral to the management and implementation of the EU-funded 'Mayors for Economic Growth Facility' (M4EG) initiative, which operates in five Eastern Partnership Countries. The role involves supporting project management, financial management, and administrative tasks to ensure effective project execution. The Project Associate will work closely with the Project Manager and the UNDP Country Office team, contributing to the achievement of project goals through compliance with UNDP policies and effective internal control systems. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Project Associate will also play a key role in communication and coordination with stakeholders, ensuring that project-related information is accurately disseminated and documented.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: managing project allocations in Quantum, creating e-requisitions, checking budget accuracy, generating financial reports, and preparing monthly delivery monitoring tables. They will support project implementation by assisting in budget planning, preparation, revisions, and execution, ensuring compliance with budgetary regulations. The incumbent will monitor budget expenditures, prepare expenditure reports, and assist in procurement processes. Additionally, the Project Associate will organize project meetings, manage logistics, and produce necessary documentation. They will also handle internal communications, update project platforms, and support the production of promotional materials. The role requires a commitment to maintaining accurate records and ensuring that all project-related documents are properly filed and tracked.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess secondary education as a minimum requirement, with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field being advantageous. A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience is required for those with secondary education, while candidates with a Bachelor’s degree should have at least 4 years of experience. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office, and experience with web-based management systems are essential. Candidates should demonstrate experience in procurement and finance-related tasks, as well as the ability to prepare technical and financial reports. Prior experience with international projects, particularly those funded by the EU, is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes at least secondary education, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, or Economics. While a Bachelor’s degree is not mandatory, it is considered an asset that may enhance a candidate's application.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of 7 years in relevant fields for candidates with secondary education, or 4 years for those with a Bachelor’s degree.
