Job Overview: The Programme Analyst position at UNFPA involves analyzing and assessing political, social, and economic trends to guide the delivery of UNFPA's programs in the field of Gender and Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Analyst include collaborating with government counterparts and NGOs to design and implement country programs and projects in the field of Gender/GBV. The analyst will ensure that monitoring and oversight mechanisms are established and implemented effectively. They will analyze and interpret the political, social, and economic environment relevant to UNFPA activities, identifying opportunities for assistance and intervention. The role involves preparing briefs and inputs for policy dialogue and technical assistancecoordination, as well as assessing the implications of new policy developments on program execution. The Programme Analyst will establish collaborative relationships with executing agencies and other UN agencies to facilitate timely delivery of program inputs. Additionally, they will support the advocacy and resource mobilization strategy of the country office, prepare relevant documentation, and coordinate GBV prevention and response programs in emergency settings. The analyst will also provide technical assistance in developing national policies related to GBV and represent UNFPA in relevant coordination mechanisms.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in health, population, demography, or a related social science discipline. They should have at least two years of professional experience in development and population activities, with a focus on program/project management. Practical experience in designing, monitoring, and evaluating development projects is essential. Proficiency in using office software packages and web-based management systems is also required. Candidates should exemplify integrity, demonstrate commitment to UNFPA and the UN system, and embrace cultural diversity and change.
