Job Overview: The Programme Management Intern will support the Nexus Response Mechanism (NRM), a program initiated by the EU to foster lasting peace, national reconciliation, and sustainable development in Myanmar while addressing humanitarian needs. The intern will report to the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist and will be involved in various tasks related to programmatic research, data collection, report preparation, and general administrative duties. This role is essential for enhancing the effectiveness of the NRM Secretariat's monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities, contributing to both research and operational aspects of the program.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's primary responsibilities include gathering and analyzing information related to field projects, ensuring that relevant insights are compiled for reports and decision-making. The intern will take minutes during meetings, manage records and documentation, and ensure accurate documentation management. Additionally, the intern will support the implementation of project and program management best practices, assist in harmonizing NRM templates, and help roll out capacity-building and training plans on program management. The intern will also contribute to designing and implementing necessary systems and processes to strengthen program management, along with performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in or have recently graduated from a university degree program such as a Bachelor, Masters, or Ph.D. in fields related to development studies, project management, international relations, social science, or other relevant areas. Proficiency in computer usage and office software packages, particularly MS Office and Google Suite applications, is required. Prior program management certification is highly desirable, and candidates should demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision in complex environments.
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position includes being currently enrolled in or having graduated within the last three years from a university degree program. The preferred fields of study include development studies, project management, international relations, social science, or other related disciplines, which provide a solid foundation for the responsibilities of the internship.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in project support, grants management, or program management is desirable. Candidates should have proficiency in using computers and office software packages, particularly MS Office, and experience with Google Suite applications is essential. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a complex environment is considered an asset, and prior program management certification is highly desirable.
