Job Overview:
The Graphic Designer Consultant will work under the supervision of the regional evaluation specialist and in close collaboration with the communication team of the Regional Office. The primary responsibility of this position is to create graphic designs for deliverables produced by the evaluation unit, including final evaluation reports and briefs. The consultant is expected to adhere to ONU Femmes' guidelines for layout design, formatting, corrections, finalizing layouts, and preparing print-ready PDF files. This role requires a strong understanding of visual composition principles and the ability to present information clearly and effectively using appropriate computer functionalities. The consultant will be involved in various projects, including reports, posters, logos, and illustrations, ensuring that all designs align with the organization's mission and values.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create graphic designs for evaluation unit deliverables, ensuring adherence to ONU Femmes' guidelines.
  • Design layouts, format documents, and make necessary corrections to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Finalize design mockups and prepare print-ready PDF files for distribution.
  • Collaborate with the evaluation and communication teams to understand project requirements and deliverables.
  • Utilize graphic design software, such as Adobe InDesign, to produce high-resolution files.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of gender issues and incorporate sensitivity to these topics into design work.
  • Ensure that all designs are inclusive and accessible to diverse audiences.
  • Stay updated on design trends and software advancements to enhance the quality of work produced.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of graphic design principles and techniques.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software, particularly Adobe InDesign, and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to create, edit, and present information in clear and visually appealing formats.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Sensitivity to gender issues and a commitment to promoting gender equality through design.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in graphic design, graphic arts, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a combination of graphic design training and two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of a higher university degree.

Experience:
At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in the field of communication, with a focus on graphic design. Candidates should have updated and in-depth knowledge of graphic design software and tools.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, and proficiency in English is considered a significant asset.
