Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Information Communication Specialist include:
Maintaining a full backup of the UN Timor-Leste website throughout the contract duration.
Assisting with content updates, including translations for the website in both English and Tetum.
Redesigning landing and other pages of the UN Timor-Leste website as required.
Repairing and fixing errors, bugs, and broken links on the website, ensuring both internal and external links are functional.
Conducting browser compatibility testing to ensure the website operates smoothly across common browsers.
Updating critical software that the website relies on.
Performing periodic database backups to safeguard website data.
Utilizing Google Analytics to monitor and analyze important website metrics.
Ensuring all website functionalities are working correctly. 1
Revising website content and uploading new information as needed. 1
Editing audio-visual content, including web editing, photo editing, and creating short social media videos. 1
Completing any other related tasks as assigned by the Head of Office or Head of Communications.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a relevant degree, diploma, or certificate in digital communications, web maintenance, or related fields. Candidates must have proven experience of at least three years in web design and maintenance, as well as digital productions, including video production and graphic design, particularly within the international development context. A strong track record in website design, security, administration, Google Analytics, and Search Engine Optimization is essential. Familiarity with various Content Management Systems (CMS) and a broad knowledge of current web development technologies and design tools are also required. Candidates should be well-versed in HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, Macromedia Flash, and Java, and possess excellent knowledge of recent trends in graphic design, websites, video editing, online video publishing, and social media networking. Previous experience working for the UN is considered an asset.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a relevant degree, diploma, or certificate in digital communications, web maintenance, or a related field.
