Job Overview:
The Field Agent position is crucial for the successful implementation of the 'Inclusive and Sustainable Rio' project, which aims to mobilize the city of Petrópolis and its citizens towards non-structural actions to reduce disaster risks. The Field Agent will work under the supervision of the Head of Brazil Office and the Local Manager, engaging closely with community members and various stakeholders to promote awareness of disaster risks and safe practices. This role requires active participation in field operations, emergency response, and community engagement, ensuring that the project objectives are met effectively. The Field Agent will also be responsible for reporting on activities and challenges faced during the implementation process, contributing to the overall success of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Agent will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: actively participating in field operations under the guidance of the Local Manager; supporting community evacuations during emergencies; providing first aid and facilitating emergency communication; monitoring risks in vulnerable areas; assisting in shelter operations; collaborating with team members to complete tasks efficiently; reporting difficulties and results to the Local Manager; engaging with the local community to provide necessary information; promoting awareness of risks and safe practices; organizing materials and resources for operations; ensuring compliance with safety guidelines; identifying risky situations and taking action to mitigate harm; contributing to data collection and reporting; identifying areas for operational improvement; managing potential conflicts during field operations; adapting strategies based on local conditions; supporting training initiatives; and developing activities to enhance community resilience.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary school education or equivalent, with an additional two years of relevant experience beyond the basic requirement. Experience in community work, social assistance, or risk management projects is highly desirable. Training in first aid or risk management is also considered an asset. The ideal candidate should demonstrate professionalism, strong planning and organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a capacity for teamwork in a multicultural environment. Knowledge of UN-Habitat processes and procedures is essential for ensuring quality in project activities.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a secondary school diploma. Candidates with additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in community engagement, social assistance, or risk management. The Field Agent position is part-time (50%) with a monthly remuneration of BRL 911.39 (net amount). The contract is for a duration of six months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and project needs. The position is open to Brazilian nationals or candidates with a permanent visa in Brazil.
