Job Overview:
The Project Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the Supporting Temporary Employment and Infrastructure Rehabilitation Programme (STEP). This position involves assisting the Project Manager in identifying project needs, preparing project proposals, and maintaining the project's master list. The Project Assistant will lead the registration and selection process for cash-for-work beneficiaries, conduct regular field monitoring visits to ensure accurate attendance records, and gather feedback from beneficiaries to address any concerns promptly. Additionally, the role requires coordination with various departments to ensure smooth project implementation and reporting any delays or issues to the Project Manager. The Project Assistant will also be responsible for drafting project progress reports, monitoring financial expenditures, and assisting during donor visits. This position demands a proactive approach to project management and a commitment to the agency's mission of supporting Palestine refugees.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Project Manager in identifying and reviewing project needs, preparing individual project proposals, and maintaining the Field's project master list.
  • Lead the registration and selection process for cash-for-work beneficiaries.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to ensure that beneficiary attendance records are accurately completed and address any feedback received from beneficiaries in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and follow up on project implementation with relevant departments, reporting any delays or problems to the Project Manager.
  • Collaborate with the concerned department to draft project progress reports and updates, collecting data and information on project implementation for inclusion in monthly monitoring reports.
  • Monitor and control financial expenditures of projects in coordination with Administrative Officers and the Field Finance Officer, assisting in developing alternative plans for utilizing remaining funds post-project completion.
  • Assist the Project Manager during donor visits and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Project Management, International Relations, or other relevant disciplines. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of project management principles and practices, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Business Administration, Project Management, International Relations, or other relevant fields is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform the duties associated with project management and implementation effectively.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience is required. This experience should include programme monitoring, reporting, stakeholder engagement, budget expenditure tracking, data collection, community sensitization, and conducting trainings and meetings. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of managing projects and working collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Languages:
Candidates must have an excellent command of both written and spoken Arabic and English. Proficiency in these languages is crucial for effective communication with beneficiaries, stakeholders, and team members, as well as for preparing reports and documentation related to the project.

Additional Notes:
The position is offered as a Limited Duration Contract (LDC) for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The monthly basic salary for this position is JOD 1,025.30, and additional benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave (pro-rated), family allowance (if applicable), sick leave, maternity leave, and paternity leave. Candidates must reside in the West Bank or Jerusalem and have the necessary authorization to work in the duty station.
