Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:

  • Proofreading articles before and after publication to ensure accuracy and clarity.
  • Assisting with fact-checking and conducting background research to support news production.
  • Contributing to the creation of graphic, visual, and audio content for various platforms.
  • Engaging in feature story development, including conducting interviews and research.
  • Collaborating with the UN Partnerships Unit to review and enhance the partnerships database, identifying potential new media partners.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned, including outreach efforts to promote UN initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, English, Urdu, or translation studies (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in or have completed the final year of a first university degree program in the same fields (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in standard computer applications, particularly word processing and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Exhibit a strong interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals.
  • Show the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a relevant educational background, which includes being enrolled in or having completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program in fields related to communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, English, Urdu, or translation studies. Proof of enrollment or completion of the degree program must be provided during the application process.

Experience:
