Job Overview:

The intern will work under the supervision of the Communications & Advocacy Officer, gaining practical experience in public outreach, digital communications, and advocacy. The role involves creating visually compelling content to enhance public understanding of the UN's work in Thailand, particularly targeting young audiences. The intern will engage in various tasks, including designing social media assets, researching design trends, and supporting multimedia storytelling efforts. This is an unpaid, full-time internship lasting between 3 to 6 months, with a minimum commitment of 35 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and production of high-quality visual content for digital platforms, including developing social media assets in Thai and English, localizing existing content, and collaborating on design concepts for campaigns.
  • Research and innovation in graphic design, integrating best practices in color theory and layout, staying updated on design trends, and experimenting with motion graphics.
  • Support multimedia storytelling by creating presentation templates and promotional materials for UN events, contributing creative ideas for campaigns targeting young audiences.
  • Provide administrative support for event preparation, organizing visual asset libraries, and assisting with technical tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program or the final year of a bachelor's degree. A keen interest in the UN's work and a commitment to its ideals are essential. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite is required, along with basic knowledge of social media platforms. Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are also necessary qualifications.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed or be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level).

Experience:
No specific prior experience is required, but a demonstrated interest in graphic design and digital content production is essential. Familiarity with design tools and social media trends is advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in Thai and English is required, with proficiency in all four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Knowledge of French is beneficial as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
