Job Overview:
The Population Expert will be responsible for analyzing demographic data and trends to inform policy decisions and program development. This role involves conducting research, collaborating with stakeholders, and providing expert advice on population-related issues. The expert will work closely with government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations to ensure that population policies are evidence-based and effectively address the needs of the population. The position requires a deep understanding of population dynamics, health systems, and social determinants of health, as well as the ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive demographic analyses and interpret population data to identify trends and implications for policy and program development.
  • Collaborate with government agencies and stakeholders to develop and implement population policies and programs.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building to local organizations in data collection and analysis.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to policymakers and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on global and regional population issues and best practices in population health.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance understanding of population dynamics among stakeholders.
  • Engage in advocacy efforts to promote evidence-based population policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of population programs and policies.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in demography, public health, sociology, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical analysis and data interpretation.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in project management and implementation of population-related programs.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree or higher in demography, public health, sociology, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in population studies or related areas will be considered an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in population analysis, public health, or related fields is required. Experience working in international development or with governmental organizations is preferred.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic or other languages relevant to the region is considered an advantage.
