Job Overview: The Empathy Movement Leader at Ashoka will spearhead initiatives aimed at cultivating empathy among young children in North America. This role is pivotal in advancing Ashoka's vision of an 'Everyone A Changemaker' society, where empathy is recognized as a crucial skill for success in a rapidly changing world. The leader will be responsible for driving a movement that encourages parents, educators, and communities to prioritize empathy and changemaking skills. This position requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate with various stakeholders, including schools, government agencies, and media, to create a cultural shift towards valuing empathy in child development. The leader will also be tasked with measuring the impact of these initiatives and ensuring that empathy becomes a core component of educational practices across North America.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the development and expansion of the Everyone A Changemaker Movement in North America, focusing on early childhood education and empathy mastery.
Collaborate with Ashoka teams and external partners to co-create impactful programs and initiatives that promote empathy and changemaking.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including education entrepreneurs, schools, government agencies, and media influencers.
Develop and implement strategies that demonstrate measurable increases in empathy and changemaking skills among young children.
Raise funds and explore innovative revenue models to support the movement and its initiatives.
Advocate for the integration of empathy and changemaking into educational curricula and practices.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and partnerships, adjusting strategies as necessary to maximize impact.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in launching and leading a business or organization with a focus on social impact.
A track record of creating innovative ideas and successfully implementing them to drive systemic change.
Experience in managing programs that promote empathy and changemaking.
Strong ability to form and nurture partnerships across various sectors, including education, government, and media.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, or a related field is required. A master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area is preferred, particularly in fields related to social entrepreneurship, education policy, or child development.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership roles focused on social impact, education, or related fields is required. Candidates should have a history of successfully managing programs and initiatives that foster empathy and changemaking skills.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly Spanish or French, is considered a plus, as it may enhance communication with diverse communities and stakeholders.
