Job Overview: The Global Empathy Leader will spearhead the Global Empathy Initiative, a transformative project aimed at embedding empathy as a foundational skill in education and society. This position requires a visionary leader who can collaborate with teams across 35 countries to build a global movement centered on empathy. The leader will work closely with Ashoka's President and regional leaders to create an integrated team of teams, leveraging the strengths of Ashoka Fellows, business entrepreneurs, and thought leaders. The role involves raising resources, pioneering new revenue models, and designing systems to extract insights from innovations across 80+ countries. The Global Empathy Leader will play a crucial role in shifting societal norms to ensure that every child masters empathy, thereby contributing to a more compassionate and effective society.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the Global Empathy Initiative and collaborate with Ashoka teams across 35 countries to build a global movement.
Work with senior stakeholders, including Ashoka’s President and regional leaders, to create an integrated team of teams.
Raise resources and develop new revenue models to support the initiative.
Design and implement systems to gather insights from Ashoka Fellow innovations.
Foster partnerships with business entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and other stakeholders to advance the initiative.
Innovate solutions that lead to systemic change in education and social impact.
Manage major client and partner relationships, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Strong ability to innovate and implement solutions that drive systemic change.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire diverse stakeholders.
Experience in fundraising, resource mobilization, and managing client relationships.
Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in diverse environments.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for candidates holding advanced degrees in fields related to social entrepreneurship, education, or organizational leadership. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of empathy and its role in personal and societal development.
Experience: Candidates should have significant experience in leadership roles, ideally with a background in social entrepreneurship or related fields. A history of scaling organizations and driving social impact is essential, along with experience in managing diverse teams and projects.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly those relevant to Ashoka's global operations, is considered a strong asset.
