Job Overview:
The Global Venture Team Leader will play a pivotal role in Ashoka's mission to identify and support 10,000 social entrepreneurs over the next decade. This position requires a visionary leader who can develop and implement strategies to expand Ashoka's network of social entrepreneurs globally. The leader will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing initiatives that leverage insights from Ashoka Fellows and partners to advance the field of social entrepreneurship. The role also involves mobilizing networks, raising resources, and pioneering new revenue models to enhance the identification and selection process of Ashoka Fellows. Collaboration with country and program leaders is essential to build and enhance a successful Venture Program, ensuring that Ashoka remains at the forefront of social innovation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow Ashoka's global network of social entrepreneurs.
  • Conceptualize and execute initiatives that leverage learning and insights from Ashoka Fellows, partners, and allies.
  • Mobilize networks and strategic partners to drive growth in the identification and selection of Ashoka Fellows.
  • Raise resources and pioneer new revenue models to support the Venture Program.
  • Collaborate with country and program leaders to enhance the effectiveness of the Venture Program.
  • Provide thought leadership on innovations and opportunities in social entrepreneurship.
  • Manage large client and partner relationships effectively.
  • Inspire and lead entrepreneurial teams with respect and collegiality.
  • Travel internationally to engage with global partners and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of creating and growing ideas that lead to systemic change.
  • Experience in mobilizing financial and other resources effectively.
  • Strong social and emotional intelligence with the ability to lead and inspire diverse teams.
  • Agility in managing large client and partner relationships.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in identifying and driving major innovations in various fields.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for candidates holding advanced degrees in relevant fields such as business, social sciences, or public policy. Educational background should reflect a strong understanding of social entrepreneurship and organizational leadership.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 15 years of experience in leadership roles, particularly in building and growing organizations from early stages to large scale. Experience in social entrepreneurship or related fields is highly desirable, along with a proven ability to create large-scale impact.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus, particularly those relevant to Ashoka's international operations.
