Job Overview:
The Activism and Outreach Specialist will be responsible for managing WWF's Panda Ambassador Program and engaging a wider audience in conservation advocacy. This role involves driving meaningful engagement with WWF's campaigns and initiatives, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, project coordination, and leadership development for Ambassadors. The Specialist will develop resources and strategies to empower Ambassadors, ensuring their efforts align with WWF’s broader campaigns. Additionally, the Specialist will support key Activism and Outreach functions beyond the Panda Ambassador program, contributing to the overall mission of WWF.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Panda Ambassador Program Management: Lead the administration of the Panda Ambassador Program, including recruitment, candidate vetting, onboarding, and advising on projects. Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract high-engagement candidates. Coordinate and create resources such as toolkits and educational materials to support Ambassadors’ projects. Facilitate monthly calls to foster community engagement and ensure alignment with broader campaign narratives.
  • Activism & Outreach Support: Research and recommend best practices and technologies for activism initiatives. Assist in planning and executing major events like WWF’s annual Lobby Day and panel discussions. Manage the Youth Conservation Leadership Award application process and engage with awardees throughout the year. Oversee WWF's activism social media strategy, creating content and collaborating with other channels. Track engagement metrics and provide insights to improve program effectiveness. Perform additional duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in online advocacy or activism.
  • Proficiency in Canva and Airtable, as well as social media content creation for platforms like Instagram and X/Twitter.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Proven ability to translate complex scientific concepts for general audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to building a culture of inclusion within teams.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the principles of effective communication and outreach strategies essential for the role.

Experience:
