Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Energy Specialist will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including acting as the focal point for energy sector financial issues within the Energy Department. Key duties include:
Contributing to energy sector engagements focused on the financial recovery of energy utilities, including conducting financial analyses and preparing recovery plans.
Collaborating with energy economists and financial analysts to ensure consistent analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis across the department.
Providing cross-support to energy task teams in selected countries and leading or supporting the development of global knowledge products.
Developing KIEPR capacity on utility and energy finance and coordinating support opportunities for other staff.
Leading or contributing to global analytical work focused on utility and energy sector financial performance and recovery.
Supporting private sector participation and blended finance solutions in energy sector engagements.
Developing and delivering training initiatives on project and utility finance for clients and staff.
Representing the World Bank in meetings with multilateral organizations and donors.
Preparing briefs on energy sector financial issues for senior management. 1
Contributing to other global knowledge products produced by KIEPR. 1
Carrying out ad-hoc corporate tasks and reviews as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Senior Energy Specialist position must possess a PhD or master’s degree in economics, finance, business administration, accounting, or a related field.
