Job Overview: The Senior HR Specialist – Employee Listening and Engagement is a pivotal role within the Talent and Career Development Center of Expertise at the World Bank Group. This position is responsible for shaping and implementing the organization’s employee listening and engagement strategy, ensuring that employee feedback is effectively translated into actionable insights that inform business and workforce decisions. The role requires a deep understanding of employee engagement practices, including the design and delivery of engagement surveys, and the ability to foster strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization. The selected candidate will work closely with HR Business Partners and other key stakeholders to enhance workforce engagement and ensure alignment with organizational priorities. This position is crucial for developing a cohesive listening framework that integrates various feedback mechanisms, such as pulse surveys and 360-degree feedback assessments, to drive meaningful improvements in employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior HR Specialist will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties, including: driving the enhancement of the employee listening and engagement strategy; integrating various feedback mechanisms into a cohesive framework; leading the design and implementation of employee engagement initiatives; managing annual and bi-annual listening activities; developing post-survey initiatives to translate feedback into actionable plans; facilitating training related to employee engagement practices; overseeing external consultants to ensure quality delivery; monitoring the effectiveness of engagement programs through data analysis; building strong relationships with business leaders and HR colleagues; engaging with external organizations to stay updated on best practices; preparing high-quality communication materials; conducting focus groups and engagement sessions; and participating in special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Behavioral Sciences, Organizational Development/Behavior, or a related field, along with a minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience. Proven expertise in leading HR and talent management practices, particularly in employee engagement and listening approaches, is essential. Candidates should have experience designing and delivering employee listening mechanisms, such as engagement surveys and focus groups, and should be adept at translating survey results into effective action plans. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent project management capabilities, are also required. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse client groups.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Business Administration, Behavioral Sciences, or Organizational Development/Behavior is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary theoretical foundation and practical knowledge to effectively manage employee engagement and listening initiatives within the organization.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience in human resources, with a strong focus on employee engagement and listening practices. Candidates should have a proven track record of leading HR initiatives and managing talent effectively, as well as experience in designing and implementing employee listening mechanisms that generate actionable insights.
