Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is part of the Climate Diplomacy Action Programme (CDAP), which supports the German government's climate foreign policy, particularly in dialogues with partner countries from the G20 and V20 nations. The CDAP is aligned with the priorities of the Federal Foreign Office in international climate policy and responds flexibly to political needs. Interns will gain insights into the organization's work in various countries, the organization of national and international events, and the management of political networks. The role involves supporting the analysis of international climate protection developments and participating in discussions on climate policy.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will assist in various tasks, including monitoring and analyzing developments in international climate protection and climate policy debates, conducting research on selected topics such as climate protection, energy, and climate resilience, and supporting the organization and execution of national and international dialogue formats. Responsibilities also include preparing communication materials, drafting meeting notes, and assisting in knowledge management and reporting. Interns will engage in general organizational tasks, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the project team.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should be enrolled in studies related to social sciences, economics, politics, environmental sciences, or engineering. They should possess relevant knowledge in climate change, climate and energy, and climate resilience. Practical experience in international cooperation and event organization is preferred. The ideal candidate should be reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive in supporting the project team.
Educational Background: A current enrollment in a relevant academic program is required, and candidates must be in a position where completing an internship is integral to their studies. Alternatively, recent graduates whose degree was obtained no more than six months prior to the internship start date are also eligible.
Experience: Candidates should have some practical experience in international cooperation and event organization, which can be gained through previous internships or academic projects. Familiarity with climate-related topics is essential, and experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
Languages: Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Proficiency in another language, such as Spanish or French, is considered a plus and would enhance the candidate's profile.
