Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position within the Climate Diplomacy Action Programme (CDAP) offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into international climate policy and diplomacy. The intern will support the project in various tasks, including monitoring and analyzing developments in international climate protection, engaging in climate policy debates, and understanding the impacts of climate change in selected countries and regions. The role involves assisting in the organization of national and international dialogues, training sessions, and capacity-building measures, as well as contributing to the preparation of communication materials and reports. This position is ideal for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact in the field of climate diplomacy while developing their professional skills in a dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:
  • Monitoring and analyzing international climate protection developments and climate policy debates.
  • Conducting research and analysis on selected topics in international climate policy, such as climate protection, energy, just transition, adaptation, vulnerability, climate resilience, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security.
  • Supporting dialogues on climate diplomacy strategies and organizing national and international dialogue formats, trainings, and capacity-building measures.
  • Assisting in the preparation of discussion materials, commentaries, concept papers, status reports, and speaking points.
  • Creating communication materials for the project, including newsletters, presentations, and informational brochures.
  • Compiling information for monitoring, knowledge management, and reporting purposes.
  • Performing general organizational tasks, such as drafting meeting notes and summarizing conferences.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should be enrolled in studies related to social sciences, economics, political science, environmental science, engineering, or other relevant fields. They should possess relevant knowledge in climate change, climate and energy, as well as climate resilience and security. Practical experience in international cooperation and event organization is also desirable. The ideal candidate should be reliable, resilient, detail-oriented, and proactive in supporting the project team.

Educational Background:
A current enrollment in a relevant academic program is required. Candidates must either be in a program that includes an internship as an integral part or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.

Experience:
Candidates should have some practical experience in international cooperation and event organization, which can be gained through previous internships, volunteer work, or academic projects related to climate policy or international relations.

Languages:
Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Proficiency in another language, such as Spanish or French, is considered an advantage.
