Job Overview: The position involves integrating a gender perspective throughout the project lifecycle of planetGOLD Ecuador. This entails ensuring that gender considerations are embedded in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The contractor will work closely with project teams to develop strategies that promote gender equality and empower women in the context of the project. The role requires a deep understanding of gender issues and the ability to apply this knowledge to enhance project outcomes. The contractor will also be responsible for conducting gender analysis, providing recommendations, and facilitating training sessions to build capacity among project staff and stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive gender analysis to identify gender-specific needs and barriers within the project context.
Develop and implement strategies to integrate gender considerations into all phases of the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure that gender equality objectives are met and reported on.
Facilitate training and workshops for project staff and stakeholders on gender issues and best practices.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of gender integration efforts and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Prepare reports and documentation on gender-related activities and outcomes for stakeholders.
Engage with local communities to promote awareness and understanding of gender issues related to the project.
Liaise with other organizations and stakeholders to share knowledge and resources on gender integration.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in gender analysis or project management are an advantage.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in gender integration within development projects is required. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the UN system, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the specific context of Ecuador and its gender dynamics will be considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory. Proficiency in English is desirable, and knowledge of indigenous languages spoken in Ecuador would be an advantage.
Additional Notes: The contract duration is for 120 effective working days within a period of 160 days. This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and applicants are encouraged to submit their proposals through the UNDP supplier portal before the deadline. The position may involve remote work, but candidates should be prepared for potential field visits as required by the project.
