Job Overview:
The position involves the evaluation of the International Centre for Engineering Education (ICEE) under the auspices of UNESCO. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a thorough evaluation of the ICEE, including its objectives, activities, and outcomes.
  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data related to the ICEE's performance.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including educational institutions, government bodies, and industry partners, to gather insights and feedback.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure that the evaluation process adheres to UNESCO's standards and methodologies.
  • Present evaluation results to UNESCO and other relevant parties, facilitating discussions on potential improvements and future directions for the ICEE.

Required Qualifications:
  • Eligibility to undertake paid work in the People’s Republic of China or legal registration as an enterprise or organization.
  • An advanced degree in science, engineering, education-related subjects, social sciences, management, economics, or other relevant fields.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in leading evaluations, particularly for international organizations.
  • Strong understanding of the engineering research and education landscape in China.
  • Familiarity with the UN system and its operational frameworks.
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques and Results-Based Management (RBM) principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated drafting abilities in both English and Chinese, with writing samples required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in relevant fields such as science, engineering, education, social sciences, management, or economics. This educational background is essential to ensure that the consultant has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the ICEE.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least ten years of relevant work experience, particularly in leading evaluations for international organizations. This experience should include a strong track record of managing complex projects and engaging with diverse stakeholders in the education sector.

Languages:
