Job Overview: The Private Partnerships Consultant position at WFP is a critical role that focuses on enhancing fundraising efforts through effective communication strategies and social media engagement. The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Head of the Private Partnerships Unit, contributing to the planning, creation, and regular updates of WFP China’s fundraising social media content. This includes drafting, designing, filming, and editing posts and digital materials to engage potential donors and raise awareness about WFP's mission. The consultant will also monitor and analyze performance data of social media accounts, identifying effective communication styles and content that can enhance fundraising outcomes. Additionally, the consultant will assist in developing communication strategies to promote individual giving activities, ensuring that messaging resonates with potential donors. The role requires a proactive approach to support fundraising events and campaigns, providing communication materials and coordinating events as necessary. The consultant will also maintain and update WFP China’s individual fundraising pages on online platforms, ensuring compliance with platform requirements, and support the organization of meetings and campaigns within the Private Partnerships unit.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Private Partnerships Consultant will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Supporting the planning, creation, and regular updates of WFP China fundraising social media content, which involves drafting, designing, filming, and editing posts and digital materials.
Monitoring and tracking performance data of WFP China fundraising social media accounts, as well as relevant peer and competitor accounts, conducting analysis to identify effective communication content and styles that enhance fundraising outcomes.
Assisting in developing and delivering communication strategies to promote individual giving activities, including donor outreach, storytelling, and campaign-specific messaging.
Providing communication support for fundraising events and campaigns, which includes drafting and editing social media content, preparing communication materials for partners and donors, and assisting with event coordination as required.
Maintaining and updating WFP China’s individual fundraising pages on online platforms, ensuring compliance with platform requirements.
Supporting the organization of meetings, campaigns, and other activities of the Private Partnerships unit.
Performing other duties as required to support the overall objectives of the unit and the organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess proven experience in managing social media platforms, creating engaging multimedia content, and analyzing performance data to support individual giving campaigns and donor storytelling. They should demonstrate the ability to provide communication support for fundraising events and manage online fundraising pages effectively. Excellent bilingual communication skills in English and Chinese are essential, along with strong organizational skills. Candidates should also have the ability to work with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email) and be capable of preparing preliminary reports and drafting correspondence. The ability to work in a multicultural environment, under pressure, and meet deadlines is crucial, as is a willingness to take on challenges and adapt to changing circumstances.
Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Development, Economics, International Relations, Law, Marketing, Communications, or a relevant field is required for this position. Experience: The position requires candidates to have a proven track record of experience in managing social media platforms and creating engaging multimedia content. Candidates should also have experience in analyzing performance data to support individual giving campaigns and donor storytelling. Demonstrated ability to provide communication support for fundraising events and manage online fundraising pages is essential, backed by excellent bilingual communication and organizational skills.
Languages: Bilingual proficiency in Chinese (native-level, Level C) and advanced reading and writing capabilities in English are mandatory for this position. This language requirement ensures effective communication with diverse stakeholders and the ability to create compelling content for fundraising initiatives.
Additional Notes: The contract for this position is for an International Consultant and is expected to last for 11 months. The duty station is located in Beijing, China.
