Job Overview:
The position involves evaluating the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology under the auspices of UNESCO (IKCEST). The evaluator will be responsible for assessing the effectiveness and impact of the IKCEST initiatives and programs. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of engineering sciences and technology, as well as the ability to analyze and synthesize information from various sources. The evaluator will work closely with UNESCO's Natural Sciences Sector and will be expected to provide insights and recommendations based on their findings. The position is designed for external candidates and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to UNESCO's mission through evaluation and assessment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct a thorough evaluation of the IKCEST programs and initiatives, including data collection and analysis.
• Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with UNESCO staff and stakeholders to gather relevant information and insights.
• Ensure that evaluations are conducted in accordance with UNESCO's standards and guidelines.
• Present evaluation results to relevant stakeholders and participate in discussions regarding implementation of recommendations.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity throughout the evaluation process.
• Adhere to the timeline and deliverables as outlined in the Terms of Reference.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in program evaluation, particularly in the fields of education, science, or technology.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Familiarity with UNESCO's mission and values, particularly in relation to engineering sciences and technology.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Educational Background:
A master's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, education, social sciences, or a related discipline is required. Additional certifications in evaluation methodologies or project management would be advantageous.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in program evaluation or related fields is required. Experience working with international organizations or in multicultural environments is preferred. Familiarity with UNESCO's work and its core values will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly French or Spanish, would be considered a plus.

This is a consultant position with a contract duration of 2 months. The position is open to external candidates and allows for remote work.
