Design and implement child-friendly EWS tailored to local contexts, ensuring accessibility and understandability for children and youth.
Update and revise contingency plans to address the specific needs of children, aligning with the 'Early Warnings for All' initiative.
Provide technical support and training to government officials, community leaders, and youth on the application of CCRI-DRM and EWS tools.
Facilitate knowledge exchange among stakeholders on child-sensitive disaster risk reduction.
Develop an investment case for child-responsive disaster prevention strategies and support advocacy and fundraising efforts.

Advanced degree in Climate Science, Disaster Risk Management, Environmental Engineering, or related fields.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing Early Warning Systems.
Expertise in child-centered disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation solutions.
Proficiency in using data visualization tools and DRM frameworks like CCRI.
Strong facilitation and capacity-building skills.
Familiarity with climate actions and a commitment to child-sensitive approaches.
Experience in developing strong business cases and concept notes for fundraising and strategies to strengthen partnerships.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in relevant fields such as Climate Science, Disaster Risk Management, Environmental Engineering, or similar disciplines that equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to address climate-related challenges affecting children.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, specifically in designing and implementing Early Warning Systems. Candidates should have a proven track record in child-centered disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation solutions, demonstrating their ability to effectively contribute to the objectives of the role.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, with strong writing skills required to produce high-quality reports and presentations. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly stated as a requirement.
Additional Notes: The contract duration is 230 days over a period of 10.5 months. The consultant will be expected to submit a financial proposal based on the outlined deliverables. UNICEF emphasizes diversity and inclusion, encouraging applications from candidates of all backgrounds, including those with disabilities.
