Job Overview: The Regional Reporting Officer will be stationed at the IOM Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok, which oversees 40 countries in the region. This position is crucial for coordinating donor reporting aspects of IOM programs and projects, ensuring compliance with IOM’s Project Development and Implementation (PDI) policies, Results Based Management (RBM) principles, and donor requirements. The officer will work under the guidance of the Regional Director and the direct supervision of the Regional Project Development Officer. The role involves facilitating the reporting review process, supporting Country Offices in report development, and ensuring that reports align with the Strategic Results Framework and the Sustainable Development Goals. The officer will also be responsible for building the capacity of missions in report writing and contributing to knowledge management within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate donor reporting aspects of IOM programs and projects in the region, ensuring compliance with agreements and IOM PDI processes.
Conduct reporting reviews in collaboration with Regional Thematic Specialists and the Regional M&E Officer.
Support Country Offices in developing reports and advising on reporting responsibilities and deadlines.
Build capacity of missions and project managers in report writing, providing recommendations on structure and presentation.
Liaise with Country Offices to understand project needs and facilitate training support.
Contribute to institutional reporting processes and review high-quality written materials.
Develop and maintain report review tracking systems and assess the efficiency of reporting systems.
Identify and disseminate lessons learned and good practices from program implementation and monitoring activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience; or a University degree in the same fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in project implementation and management, preferably in research, monitoring, or evaluation.
Familiarity with Results Based Management (RBM) and strategic planning approaches.
Experience in international or non-governmental organizations, particularly in migration.
Proven ability to write papers, briefings, and articles, with published work being an advantage.
Proficiency in database applications and statistical analysis tools.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess either a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, or a related discipline, along with two years of relevant professional experience, or a University degree in the same fields with four years of relevant professional experience. The educational background should be from an accredited academic institution, ensuring that candidates have a solid foundation in the necessary theoretical and practical aspects of the role.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience if they hold a Master’s degree, or four years if they possess a University degree. Experience should include project implementation and management, ideally in the fields of research, monitoring, and evaluation. Candidates should also have experience with Results Based Management (RBM) approaches and strategic planning, preferably within international or non-governmental organizations, particularly in the context of migration. Additionally, experience in liaising with other international organizations and building networks or partnerships is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Candidates with working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, or Spanish) and/or Thai will have an advantage. The proficiency of required languages will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: The contract type for this position is a special short-term ungraded contract for an initial duration of nine months, with the possibility of extension. The position is classified as Professional Staff, Grade UG. Candidates must be mobile and willing to relocate as required. The appointment is subject to medical fitness certification, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security clearances, and any residency or visa requirements.
