Job Overview:
The Administrative and Finance Officer position at UNESCO in Abuja is a critical role that involves providing high-level administrative support and ensuring compliance with organizational rules and regulations. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Finance and Administrative Officer and will be responsible for a variety of functions including financial management, budget preparation, human resources administration, and logistics. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Administrative and Finance Officer include: acting as a certifying officer for financial transactions, providing guidance on administrative rules and procedures, advising on operational transactions, recommending process improvements, supervising office maintenance and security, ensuring proper accounting of financial resources, scheduling payments, developing budget estimates, monitoring expenditures, preparing financial statements, investigating anomalies in accounts, assisting with coding and data entry, preparing budget reports, handling complex HR cases, issuing non-staff contracts, liaising with central services, conducting procurement activities, resolving issues related to delivered goods, and ensuring compliance with security travel requirements.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary, technical, or vocational education. A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in administration, finance, accounting, or audit is required. The ideal candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle confidential matters with discretion. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships are essential, along with a proactive approach to improving results. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems is also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a completed secondary, technical, or vocational education. A Technical Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline is desirable and may enhance a candidate's application.

Experience:
