Job Overview:
The Consultant - Web Project Manager will play a crucial role in the Division for Communications and Public Engagement at UNESCO. This position is part of a strategic transformation initiative that began in 2021, aimed at streamlining the organization's web ecosystem. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Digital Projects Coordinator and will be responsible for managing internal web projects and ensuring the overall maintenance of the web ecosystem. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure the website operates smoothly, adhering to established standards and policies. The consultant will collaborate closely with the main web architect and external suppliers to propose new features that enhance the ecosystem's performance. The web ecosystem, developed using Drupal CMS (currently version 10), hosts 43 interconnected websites and integrates with various business applications. The consultant will also be involved in maintaining and upgrading this ecosystem, which relies on multiple external contractors with long-term agreements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Consultant will support various internal sectors and units in managing their digital communication projects, translating business needs into functional and technical requirements. Key responsibilities include setting up websites, providing technical and functional support to teams, and coordinating the work of technical teams, whether in-house or external providers. The consultant will oversee new developments, module updates, and ad-hoc tasks, ensuring compliance with design and user experience standards. Writing functional specifications and managing providers in terms of UX/UI will also be part of the role. Additionally, the consultant will perform functional quality assurance tasks and participate in technology watch and new trends to keep the web ecosystem up-to-date and effective.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree or equivalent experience in Digital Project Management, Business Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field. A minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in web project management, prioritization, and quality control is mandatory. Candidates should have proven experience using Drupal and other similar web technologies, along with a comprehensive understanding of the web technology landscape. Experience in managing a diverse range of experts is also required. Strong communication skills, a good understanding of Information Architecture, and proficiency in MS Office and Web CMS are essential. The candidate should be tech-savvy, possess strong analytical skills, and demonstrate a high level of individual responsibility and initiative.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in Digital Project Management, Business Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience may also be considered.

Experience:
The position requires at least five years of relevant experience in web project management, with a focus on prioritization and quality control. Experience in managing a wide range of experts and familiarity with web technologies, particularly Drupal, is essential. Previous work experience at UNESCO or within the UN system is considered an asset, as is experience in both national and international contexts.

Languages:
Candidates must have excellent knowledge of English or French, with a good knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of another UNESCO official language, such as Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable but not mandatory.
