Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is designed to support the CCAC’s science-to-policy work, particularly in relation to the upcoming launch of two scientific assessments in 2026, which will include an Integrated Assessment on Agriculture and Food Systems. The intern will engage in various activities that facilitate communication and stakeholder engagement regarding the findings of these assessments. The role will involve collaborating with the CCAC team to develop an individual work plan and set specific goals for the internship during the initial two weeks. The intern will play a crucial role in assisting with the publication and dissemination of the Integrated Assessment, as well as supporting scientific communication efforts related to the assessment and other outputs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's duties may include, but are not limited to: assisting in the publication and dissemination of the Integrated Assessment on Agriculture and Food Systems; supporting scientific communication and outreach related to the Assessment and other scientific outputs; drafting and reviewing briefings, summaries, and technical papers; attending and summarizing meetings, workshops, and teleconferences; and performing other ad hoc duties as determined by the CCAC team. This role is integral to ensuring that the findings of the assessments are effectively communicated and utilized by stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a master's level qualification in a scientific field related to climate change, air pollution, or environmental sciences. Enrollment in doctoral studies related to short-lived climate pollutants or agriculture and food systems studies is considered an advantage. The selection process will prioritize candidates who can demonstrate initiative, proactivity, and strong organizational skills. Additionally, candidates should have the ability to write convincingly in English and possess advanced skills in Excel and other databases, including SharePoint, which would be beneficial for the role.
Educational Background: A master's degree in a relevant scientific field is required for this internship position. Candidates who are currently enrolled in doctoral studies related to short-lived climate pollutants or agriculture and food systems will be viewed favorably, as this background aligns closely with the responsibilities of the internship.
Experience: While specific prior experience is not mandated, candidates should demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge that align with the duties of the internship. Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
