Job Overview: The position of Junior Anti-Corruption Legal Consultant involves providing legal expertise and support in the area of anti-corruption. The consultant will be expected to assist in the development and implementation of anti-corruption strategies, policies, and legal frameworks. This role is crucial in ensuring that anti-corruption measures are effectively integrated into governance and public administration systems. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and international partners, to promote transparency and accountability in public sector operations. The assignment is expected to last for a period of 150 days, concluding at the end of November 2025, and will require the consultant to engage in various activities aimed at strengthening legal frameworks and enhancing institutional capacities to combat corruption.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Junior Anti-Corruption Legal Consultant will be responsible for a range of duties including, but not limited to: conducting legal research and analysis on anti-corruption laws and policies; providing legal advice and recommendations to government entities and stakeholders; drafting legal documents, reports, and policy briefs; assisting in the development of training materials and conducting training sessions for public officials; collaborating with national and international partners to promote anti-corruption initiatives; monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures; and participating in meetings, workshops, and conferences related to anti-corruption efforts. The consultant will also be expected to prepare progress reports and contribute to the overall objectives of the UNDP's anti-corruption program.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong understanding of anti-corruption laws and policies, as well as relevant legal frameworks. A demonstrated ability to conduct legal research and analysis is essential. The consultant should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are also required. Familiarity with international anti-corruption standards and practices will be considered an asset. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a commitment to ethical practices and integrity in their work.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field is required. A Master's degree or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant discipline will be considered an advantage. Candidates should have a solid academic background that supports their understanding of legal principles and anti-corruption measures.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in legal consulting, public administration, or a related field. Experience working with governmental or international organizations on anti-corruption issues is highly desirable. Familiarity with the legal and institutional frameworks in Lebanon or similar contexts will be beneficial. The consultant should demonstrate a track record of successfully contributing to anti-corruption initiatives or legal reforms.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the consultant's work. Knowledge of French or other languages may be considered an asset, depending on the specific requirements of the assignment.
Additional Notes: This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and the consultant will be expected to work on a full-time basis for the duration of the assignment. The contract will be for a long-term agreement, with a total of 150 days of service until the end of November 202
