Job Overview: The Producer of the internal-facing podcast "Step Up for Child Rights" will play a crucial role in enhancing awareness and engagement among UNICEF staff regarding child rights and key organizational priorities. This position involves producing high-quality podcast episodes that align with UNICEF's mission and strategic goals. The podcast will leverage insights from the Global Leadership Meeting (GLM) 2025, scheduled for February 2025, and will focus on advocacy for child rights, strategic partnerships, and innovative approaches to address challenges faced by children globally. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in audio and video production, scriptwriting, and storytelling, ensuring that the podcast serves as a platform for thought leadership and knowledge sharing within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for producing a total of 10 podcast episodes, each approximately 30-40 minutes long. Duties include:
Developing episode structures and outlines in collaboration with the ICSE team.
Overseeing recording sessions to ensure high-quality audio production.
Editing recorded content, including audio cleanup, mixing, and mastering.
Proposing cuts and edits to ensure coherence and avoid redundancy.
Incorporating music and creative elements as appropriate.
Reviewing episodes for accuracy and clarity before submission to the ICSE team.
Ensuring timely delivery of episodes according to the production schedule.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in podcast production, including scriptwriting, recording, editing, and post-production. Strong storytelling skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and engagingly are essential. Proficiency in video/audio editing software and equipment is required, along with excellent organizational and communication skills. Familiarity with children's rights issues and the ability to conduct thorough research are also necessary. The candidate should be comfortable operating remote audio and technical equipment and able to work collaboratively in a team environment under tight deadlines.
Educational Background: A degree in a relevant field such as communication, film/music production, broadcast/audio journalism, or videography is required. Additionally, relevant technical training in these areas is preferred to ensure the candidate has the necessary skills and knowledge for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in podcast production, which includes all aspects of the production process from pre-production to post-production. Candidates should have a proven track record of creating engaging and impactful podcasts, demonstrating their ability to manage projects effectively and meet deadlines.

Payment will be based on the submission of satisfactory deliverables, and UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment if the standards are not met. The selected candidate must also confirm their fully-vaccinated status against COVID-19, although this requirement does not apply to those working remotely.
