Job Posting Organization:
The South East Asia and Pacific Multi Country Office (EAPMCO) was established in January 2023 following the merger of the Thailand Multi-Country Office and the Cambodia Multi-Country Office. EAPMCO oversees UNOPS projects across 24 countries in North East Asia, South East Asia, and the Pacific. The head office is located in Bangkok, Thailand, and it comprises nine business units. In 2024, EAPMCO implemented projects worth over USD 80 million in various sectors including energy transition, digital transformations, and climate change. UNOPS has been operational in Indonesia since 2005, focusing on advanced infrastructure development and post-disaster recovery, with over $200 million invested in projects.

Job Overview:
The Project Management Support Senior Officer plays a crucial role in assisting the Project Coordinator with project management, monitoring, coordination, and reporting. This position emphasizes both operational and technical aspects of project management. The officer is responsible for preparing regular project reports, communicating with external stakeholders, reviewing project statuses, identifying potential risks, ensuring compliance with reporting obligations, and assisting in budget preparation and resource coordination. The role also involves establishing and maintaining resource tracking systems to facilitate effective planning and delivery tracking, ensuring high-quality management of project information and documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Project Management and Coordination: Support the preparation and implementation of project plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate activities with contractors and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project outputs. Manage project workflows and track progress.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Oversee project monitoring processes, maintain comprehensive documentation, and prepare high-quality reports and presentations for stakeholders. Identify potential risks and propose mitigation measures.
  • Knowledge Management: Establish resource tracking systems for effective planning and decision-making. Manage project documentation ensuring compliance with quality standards. Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Facilitate communication with stakeholders, provide logistical support for consultations and workshops, and foster strong relationships to promote collaboration.
  • Operational Support: Assist in procurement, financial management, and human resource tasks as required, ensuring compliance with UNOPS procedures.

Required Qualifications:
A minimum advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in project management, environmental science, business administration, or a related field is required. A first university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in the mentioned fields with two additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree. Minimum of two years of relevant experience in project management, coordination, or operational support, preferably within international or regional projects. Proven experience in monitoring, reporting, and documentation processes is an asset. Familiarity with the ASEAN framework and World Bank project requirements is also beneficial.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess at least an advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in relevant fields such as project management, environmental science, or business administration. Alternatively, a first university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in these fields along with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in project management, coordination, or operational support, ideally within international or regional projects. Experience in supporting monitoring, reporting, and documentation processes is advantageous. Familiarity with the ASEAN framework and World Bank project requirements is also considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in written and oral English is required. Knowledge of another official UNOPS language is an asset, enhancing communication capabilities within diverse teams and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The contract type is a Local ICA Contract at level ICS 9 / LICA-9, with an ongoing duration until 30 September 2026, subject to organizational requirements and funding availability. The position is open only to Indonesian nationals or those with valid residence. UNOPS emphasizes diversity and encourages applications from qualified women and underrepresented groups.
