Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
The GIS Expert will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Conduct spatial analysis and create detailed maps to support project objectives.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify GIS needs and develop appropriate solutions.
• Manage and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
• Provide training and support to staff on GIS tools and methodologies.
• Develop technical reports and presentations based on GIS analysis.
• Stay updated on the latest GIS technologies and trends to enhance project outcomes.
• Assist in the development of project proposals that incorporate GIS components.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather geographic data and ensure its proper use in projects.
• Contribute to the development of GIS-related policies and procedures within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Proven experience in GIS analysis and mapping.
• Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex spatial data.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of remote sensing and spatial data collection methods is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Geospatial Science, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset for the position.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in GIS-related roles. Experience working with international organizations or in development projects is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in managing GIS projects and providing technical support is also required.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Mongolian or other local languages is considered an asset and may enhance communication with local stakeholders.
