Job Overview:
The main objective of the Chargé.e de Reporting et Communication (RCO) position is to produce and synthesize reports, project proposals, and other communication documents under the supervision of the grant coordinator. The RCO is responsible for ensuring compliance with donor regulations and improving internal communication within the mission. Additionally, the RCO will contribute to the development of a communication strategy for external audiences. The role involves maintaining high-quality written outputs in both French and English, enhancing the capacity of field colleagues in report writing, and compiling documentation for audits. The position is crucial for the mission's visibility and effectiveness in communicating its activities and achievements to stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Produce and synthesize high-quality reports and communication documents in French and English.
  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations and guidelines in all reporting activities.
  • Collaborate with the grant coordinator to enhance the report writing skills of field staff.
  • Develop internal and external communication materials to promote the mission's activities.
  • Participate in the compilation of documentation for audits and evaluations.
  • Stay informed about donor strategies and requirements to align the mission's reporting accordingly.
  • Engage in regular communication with team members to ensure coherence in messaging and reporting.
  • Assist in the organization of workshops and training sessions for staff on reporting and communication best practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of the rules and procedures of various institutional donors.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and synthesis skills.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with communication tools and a willingness to develop new materials.
  • Diplomatic skills and experience working in multicultural environments.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations as required.

Educational Background:
A higher education degree in political science, development studies, international relations, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates with equivalent qualifications will also be considered.

Experience:
The position requires 0-2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector. A prior experience in a similar role would be an advantage, but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to the challenges of the humanitarian context.

Languages:
Fluency in French, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is also required. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset.

The position is a short-term contract with a duration of one year, starting on March 24, 202
  • The salary is based on experience, starting from EUR 2035 gross per month, which includes a base salary and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 600 is provided. SI covers housing costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the duty station. A break system is in place, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, with additional rest days accrued. Expatriates benefit from comprehensive health insurance covering medical expenses, including dental and optical care, as well as necessary vaccinations and malaria treatment. The living conditions in Yaoundé are comfortable, with modern accommodations available close to the office.
