Job Overview: The Grant and Partnership Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Grants Coordinator and Risk and Compliance Coordinator to ensure high-quality and compliant programming among NRC partners in Cameroon. This position involves effective sub-grants management and due diligence to build strong, sustainable partnerships. The officer will be responsible for monitoring the activities of sub-awardees to ensure compliance with NRC’s Partnership Guidelines and Toolkit, as well as the Codes of Conduct relevant to partners. Additionally, the officer will provide essential grant management support to the Grants Coordinator, ensuring that programs align with the NRC Country Office strategy and Plan of Action. The role requires a proactive approach to developing and implementing NRC’s country strategy on partnership, coordinating partner selection processes, and contributing to the development of concept notes and donor proposals. The officer will also support external donor audits and ensure that partners receive necessary training to implement partnership agreements effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Grant and Partnership Officer will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Contributing to the development and implementation of NRC’s country strategy on partnership, including action plans and capacity analysis of potential partners.
Supporting the Grants Coordinator in coordinating the partner selection process, from preparing expressions of interest and calls for proposals to conducting due diligence and signing grant contracts.
Assisting in the development of concept notes and donor proposals, collaborating closely with relevant departments within NRC Cameroon.
Supporting external donor audits for NRC and its partners.
Upholding NRC partnership policy and humanitarian principles while guiding the evolution of strategic partnerships.
Regularly mapping potential partners in relevant Area Offices and ensuring they receive the necessary training to implement partnership agreements.
Supporting the Grants Coordinator in developing Partnership Agreements, Teaming Agreements, MOUs, and other contractual agreements in line with NRC procedures.
Ensuring that partners are involved in proposal development processes and coordinating the collection of their inputs to proposals.
Reviewing partners’ contractual reports and providing timely feedback. 1
Organizing and conducting review meetings with partners and monitoring visits to address any concerns. 1
Monitoring the partnership SharePoint folder, updating the partnership tracker, and filing all relevant communications. 1
Following up on the implementation of partner-specific compliance and programmatic monitoring work plans. 1
Leading NRC’s monitoring of partners by developing annual monitoring schedules and facilitating remote and on-site monitoring and spot-checks. 1
Attending partnership-related meetings and collaborating with relevant working groups. 1
Performing any other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Grant and Partnership Officer position should possess the following qualifications:
A college or university degree in a relevant field is required, with a preference for degrees in management, administration, marketing, or related fields.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, specifically in contract management and partnership development.
Relevant experience in project and partnership management within the humanitarian sector.
Familiarity with working with humanitarian and development donors.
A good understanding of donor rules and regulations.
Strong skills and experience in report and proposal writing.
Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to mediate in high-stress scenarios with competing interests.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with databases and applications is preferred.
Educational Background: Candidates applying for the Grant and Partnership Officer position should have a college or university degree in a relevant field. While a degree in management, administration, marketing, or a related field is desired, the primary requirement is a degree that equips the candidate with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform effectively in this role.
Experience: The position requires at least 2 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in contract management and partnership development. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing projects and partnerships in the humanitarian context, demonstrating their ability to navigate the complexities of working with various stakeholders, including donors and partners.
Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English and French is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in both languages is essential for effective communication with partners and stakeholders in the region, as well as for the preparation of reports and proposals.
Additional Notes: This position is based in Yaounde, Cameroon, and may require occasional travel within the local community for partner meetings, trainings, and events. The role may also involve travel for meetings throughout the region and/or countrywide. The position is expected to be full-time, and the organization is committed to recruiting both nationally and internationally.
