Job Overview:
The mission of Solidarités International (SI) in Chad and Cameroon, referred to as Tchameroun, merged in 2021, with its coordination based in Yaoundé. The team consists of members from six departments: programs, SERA, grants, human resources, finance, and logistics, along with a director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">country director. SI Tchameroun operates in the regions of Lac, Ouaddaï, and Sila in Chad, and in the Extreme-North of Cameroon, including N'Djamena and Yaoundé. The mission receives humanitarian funding from various sources and is currently engaged in emergency assistance projects, livelihood strengthening, and access to water, hygiene, and sanitation (EHA). The recruitment notice pertains to the position of logistics coordinator, who will be a member of the coordination team and will work closely with the program, finance, and HR departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The logistics coordinator is responsible for overseeing the logistical activities of the mission to ensure the smooth implementation of programs. Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining SI's logistical procedures and tools, ensuring compliance and proper usage, and guaranteeing the quality of procurement files across the mission. The coordinator will also participate in defining the mission's strategy, drafting project proposals, and determining the resources needed for SI's activities. Additionally, the coordinator will support the country director in operational security management and serve as a liaison between headquarters and the mission regarding logistics. The first two to three months will focus on supporting logistics colleagues in mastering tools such as the Link software, budget tracking, and fuel management, as well as structuring the logistics department in coordination with field bases.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a higher education degree in logistics and have a minimum of three years of experience in the humanitarian sector in a similar role. Technical skills required include mastery of logistical processes, knowledge of procurement procedures from major donors, and familiarity with logistics related to framework contracts and cash transfers. Proficiency in the Link software or equivalent is also necessary. Transversal skills include the ability to enhance competencies, a comprehensive view of the logistics department for optimization, and a willingness to travel between different bases.

Educational Background:
A higher education degree in logistics is mandatory for this position, ensuring that candidates have the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to manage logistics effectively in a humanitarian context.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, specifically in logistics roles. This experience should demonstrate the ability to manage logistical operations and navigate the complexities of humanitarian aid delivery.

Languages:
Fluency in French, both spoken and written, is essential. Operational proficiency in English is also required, allowing for effective communication in diverse environments.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in Yaoundé, with frequent travel to mission bases, particularly N'Djamena, approximately every four to six weeks. The living conditions in Yaoundé are generally pleasant, with numerous dining, entertainment, and cultural options available. The expatriate community is sizable, providing a supportive environment. The logistics coordinator will receive a salary starting from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly, along with a monthly per diem of USD 60

A break system is in place, allowing for time off every three months, with additional rest days accrued monthly.
