Job Overview:
The Digital Workplace Solutions Manager will play a crucial role within the Information Technology Services (ITS) unit of IARC, which is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the agency's IT services and infrastructure. The position involves overseeing the development and evolution of the IARC Digital Workplace, ensuring that it meets the needs of the agency and its staff. The incumbent will be tasked with integrating various IT services, managing the transition from legacy systems, and promoting digital transformation initiatives across the organization. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to improving user experience through effective change management and user support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Build and pursue the evolution of the Digital Workplace: 1.1 Gather, refine, and write specifications to fulfill IARC needs. 1.2 Implement and integrate services and components related to technical specifications. 1.3 Help integrate new services according to the IT roadmap and implementation plan. 1.4 Assist in migrating and decommissioning legacy systems and reducing technical debt.
  • Administer the solutions of the IARC Digital Workplace (product owner): 2.1 Ensure continuous operation of the services in the portfolio. 2.2 Stay abreast of evolutions and enhance existing services. 2.3 Anticipate impactful changes. 2.4 Transfer knowledge to the IT support and operational team for efficient support. 2.5 Solve problems escalated by the IT support and operations teams.
  • Support users: 3.1 Participate in the change management process, facilitating user adoption. 3.2 Prepare user documentation (procedures, training materials, user manuals, presentations). 3.3 Offer second-level support to users. 3.4 Identify or build training courses, documentation, training materials, and guidelines for all activities under the incumbent’s responsibility.
  • Cybersecurity: 4.1 Ensure the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of the services and applications in the portfolio (enforcing policies, monitoring, correcting & reporting) according to IARC/WHO cyber security guidelines. 4.2 Collaborate with the Information Security Officer and the IT department to ensure the implementation of IT Roadmap area on Cyber Security. 4.3 Promote secure usage of the services and applications among IARC employees and collaborators.

Required Qualifications:
Essential qualifications include strong systemic intelligence, organization and problem-solving abilities, capacity to work on parallel projects and tasks, ability to work autonomously and prioritize in a changing environment, and the ability to write end-user documentation and training materials. The candidate should demonstrate tact, professionalism, and flexibility in assisting others, possess an appetite to adopt and advocate for new technologies, and have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, OneDrive, Exchange, SharePoint Online), workflow systems, programming languages (PowerShell, .Net Framework), and Microsoft 365 Administration Centers. Desirable qualifications include trainer capacity (certification), MS Certification, knowledge of SharePoint 2013, Active Directory and Azure AD, Nintex K2 or similar Workflow platform, familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions, and knowledge of WordPress.

Educational Background:
The essential educational background required for this position is the completion of secondary school education, along with two years of specialized studies in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field recognized by a diploma (BTS, DUT, license, license pro, or equivalent). A university degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field is considered desirable.

Experience:
The position requires at least five years of relevant experience in managing IT services. Desirable experience includes work at the international level, particularly with or within organizations of the UN family, which would provide valuable insights into the operational and cultural dynamics of such organizations.

Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English or French is mandatory, with a working knowledge of the other language being advantageous. This bilingual proficiency is essential for effective communication within the diverse environment of IARC.

Additional Notes:
The fixed remuneration for this position is EUR 3,766 per month, net of income tax but before deductions for mandatory participation in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) and the Organization’s private insurance plans covering health, accident, illness, and disability. Additional benefits include various types of leave and allowances for dependent family members. Employment status is that of an international civil servant.
