Job Overview: The Deployment Operations Officer will work within the ATLAS Directorate under the supervision of the Deployment Manager. The role involves contributing to the implementation of the operational strategy for the deployment sector. Key responsibilities include managing and implementing the multi-country Relief EU rapid intervention project, ensuring operational follow-up, and maintaining communication with stakeholders. The officer will also be responsible for coordinating various emergency response modalities and supporting UNDAC deployments as needed. This position requires a proactive approach to project management and the ability to work under pressure while ensuring quality and accountability in all operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the management of the multi-country Relief EU project, including creating project management tools, coordinating project proposals, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
Monitor the operational implementation of HI/AL strategies in emergency responses, conducting quality audits and ensuring adherence to established processes.
Contribute to the development of emergency response strategies and assist in the training and capacity building of staff.
Engage in continuous improvement of emergency response capabilities within the deployment sector, including the development of tools and guidelines.
Provide support for UNDAC deployments as required, including field visits for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a degree in International Cooperation, Political or Social Sciences, or Humanitarian Project Management. They should have experience in humanitarian project management in emergency contexts and familiarity with major emergency funding agencies and project engineering. Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a sense of responsibility are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate autonomy and the ability to work under pressure.
Educational Background: A degree in International Cooperation, Political or Social Sciences, or Humanitarian Project Management is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage humanitarian projects and respond to emergencies.
Experience: Candidates should have experience in managing humanitarian projects, particularly in emergency situations. This experience is crucial for understanding the complexities and challenges involved in delivering effective humanitarian assistance in crisis contexts.
Languages: Fluency in French and English is mandatory, with strong writing skills in both languages. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
