Job Overview: The Risk and Conformity Coordinator will work under the authority of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and the functional authority of the Internal Audit Referent at headquarters. The primary role is to verify the conformity of internal practices and ensure the dissemination of good internal control practices. This position is crucial for the success of external audits and for implementing internal control recommendations. The coordinator will also play a significant role in preventing and addressing abuses and establishing risk management within the organization. The position is vital in navigating the challenges posed by access to intervention areas, the partnership approach focusing on localization, and the complexities of managing multiple funding sources and donor requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Risk and Conformity Coordinator will be responsible for leading and coordinating all upcoming audits, reviewing and auditing internal abuse prevention and management practices, and supporting partners to ensure compliance with donor and SI requirements. The coordinator will act as the main point of contact for the head office regarding audits, archiving, and inquiries related to internal procedures. They will also be tasked with assessing and adapting to access challenges within the country and ensuring that the organization maintains high standards of compliance and risk management in all its operations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in accounting, business management, humanitarian or development studies, or a related field. They should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in roles equivalent to this position. Technical skills required include auditing, compliance, advanced knowledge of donor guidelines, and expertise in abuse prevention and management. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong adaptability, initiative, and problem-solving abilities, especially under pressure.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as accounting, business management, humanitarian studies, or development studies is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform effectively in the role.
Experience: The position requires 3-4 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in roles that involve auditing, compliance, and risk management. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in similar positions and should be familiar with the challenges and requirements of humanitarian operations.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an advantage, while proficiency in French is also seen as an asset. These language skills are important for effective communication within the organization and with local partners and communities.
Additional Notes: The position is a salaried role with a starting gross salary of EUR 2860 per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 2600 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.
