Job Overview: The MEAL Coordinator will provide methodological support to all program teams on technical questions related to Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) and cross-cutting issues. This includes designing M&E plans, conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection, measuring indicators, and implementing complaint response mechanisms. The coordinator will oversee the quality and relevance of internal monitoring and evaluation activities, ensuring that the MEAL department is well integrated with all other departments. The role also involves training program teams, leading the RRM consortium MEAL Working group, and contributing to institutional knowledge building and improvement of MEAL methods. The coordinator will play a key role in designing SI's strategy regarding M&E support and integrating cross-cutting issues such as gender, protection, and community participation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide methodological support to program teams on MEAL-related technical questions.
Oversee the quality and relevance of internal monitoring and evaluation activities.
Ensure cross-cutting integration of the MEAL department with all other departments.
Support training of program teams in MEAL expertise.
Lead the RRM consortium MEAL Working group and support REACH in harmonizing response practices.
Contribute to institutional knowledge building and improvement of MEAL methods.
Propose strategies for M&E support to program teams.
Strengthen understanding of MEAL on the mission and use of data for action.
Structure and systematize learning processes. 1
Monitor ongoing MEAL activities and revise reporting documents. 1
Experience in designing and supervising monitoring plans.
Experience in coordinating external evaluations.
Strong representation and leadership skills in cluster and working group settings.
Autonomy, flexibility, and initiative are essential.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Statistics, Development Studies, Political or Social Sciences is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of MEAL and effectively contributing to the organization’s mission.
Experience: The position requires 0-2 years of experience in similar roles. Candidates should have some familiarity with MEAL processes and methodologies, as well as experience in coordinating evaluations and managing information systems. This level of experience is essential for effectively supporting program teams and ensuring the successful implementation of MEAL activities.
Languages: English is mandatory for this position, while Portuguese is considered a desirable language. Proficiency in both languages will enhance communication and collaboration within the team and with local stakeholders.

The salary is based on experience, starting from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization offers good living conditions, including access to amenities such as a swimming pool, restaurants, and recreational activities. A system of breaks is implemented, allowing for time off every two months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked.
