Job Overview: The UN Volunteer will work under the supervision of the Associate of Durable Solutions and will be responsible for supporting the update and implementation of the subregional Durable Solutions strategy in Northwestern Colombia. This role emphasizes socio-economic and cultural inclusion, particularly in education, land, and solutions for internally displaced persons. The volunteer will provide technical support to partners in monitoring and evaluating Durable Solutions projects, ensuring that the design includes the context and needs of the region's offices. The position also involves fostering strategic alliances with public and private actors, academia, and civil society to promote durable solutions for displaced individuals. The volunteer will engage in productive dialogues with key stakeholders and provide technical support in consolidating indicators related to education, land, and cultural inclusion for internally displaced persons and victims of armed conflict.
Duties and Responsibilities: The UN Volunteer will carry out a variety of tasks, including: supporting the implementation of the Durable Solutions strategy in Northwestern Colombia; providing technical assistance to partners in project monitoring and evaluation; following up on agreements and letters of understanding with strategic partners; facilitating dialogues with key actors regarding solutions for internally displaced persons; supporting the consolidation of indicators related to education, land, and cultural inclusion; strengthening collaboration with the National Learning Service (SENA) to enhance technical training programs; organizing and implementing awareness activities; identifying barriers to effective solutions for the population served by UNHCR; processing documentation for individuals seeking durable solutions; analyzing statistics and trends; serving as a liaison with relevant UNHCR units; attending meetings and coordination forums; supporting internal registration activities; and assisting with general administrative tasks.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation, and community engagement is highly desirable. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian principles and the rights of displaced individuals. Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting is also required.
Educational Background: A degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in areas relevant to durable solutions, refugee studies, or humanitarian assistance will be considered an asset.
