Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer Procurement Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting procurement service delivery to UNDP Country Offices (COs) for health products, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices. The position involves liaising with COs to ensure efficient procurement processes, conducting procurement activities, and preparing necessary documentation such as Purchase Orders and contracts. The analyst will also be responsible for maintaining procurement architecture, ensuring compliance with UNDP regulations, and supporting the operationalization of Long-Term Agreements (LTAs). Additionally, the role includes developing innovative procurement strategies and facilitating knowledge sharing within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support procurement service delivery to Country Offices for health products by liaising with COs and Requisitioning Units, conducting procurement processes, and preparing Purchase Orders and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with UNDP rules and regulations in procurement activities, operationalize Long-Term Agreements, and assist in mapping procurement business processes.
  • Conduct market research and analyze historical data to develop tailored procurement strategies for health products.
  • Facilitate knowledge building and sharing within the organization by synthesizing lessons learned and best practices in procurement.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with procurement processes and regulations, particularly in a UN context, is essential. Proficiency in using procurement software and tools is also required. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the values and principles of the UNDP.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in business administration, procurement, supply chain management, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in procurement or supply chain management would be an advantage.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field. Experience working in an international organization or in a UN context is highly desirable. Familiarity with health procurement and supply management is a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional UN languages, such as French or Spanish, would be considered an asset.

This position is a volunteer role under the UNDP, and it may involve a full-time commitment. The duration of the contract is typically for a specified period, and candidates may be recruited nationally or internationally depending on the position's requirements.
