Job Overview:
The Social Media Consultant will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing a comprehensive social media and community management strategy aimed at increasing the online presence of UIS. This role involves engaging diverse global audiences, building community interactions, and supporting UIS’s strategic objectives through targeted social media campaigns and community outreach efforts. The consultant will work closely with UIS to create a dynamic social media strategy that aligns with its mission and global initiatives, utilizing storytelling techniques to effectively convey UIS's mission, values, and data-driven insights. The consultant will also be tasked with fostering a supportive online community, responding to inquiries, and encouraging user-generated content to enhance engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake several key responsibilities, including:
  • Developing a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with UIS’s mission and global initiatives.
  • Creating and tailoring content for established platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, as well as emerging platforms like TikTok and Threads.
  • Utilizing storytelling techniques to convey UIS's mission and values effectively.
  • Managing community engagement by responding to comments and inquiries promptly and empathetically.
  • Encouraging user-generated content to build trust and increase engagement.
  • Producing and curating a variety of content formats, including videos, images, infographics, and live streams, ensuring they are optimized for mobile and accessible.
  • Implementing tools for social media monitoring and performance analytics, tracking key metrics, and adjusting strategies based on data analysis.
  • Delivering a comprehensive social media strategy plan, performance reports, and community feedback reports.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in social media management, content creation, and community engagement is required, preferably within international organizations or nonprofits. Expertise in content creation across multiple platforms, including video production and graphic design, is essential. Candidates should have a strong understanding of social media analytics tools and emerging trends in digital marketing, as well as experience with crisis communication and adaptability under pressure. Multilingual proficiency and cultural competency are also required, enabling effective communication with diverse global audiences.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. An advanced degree (Master’s) in a relevant field is considered a desirable qualification, along with certifications in Social Media or Digital Marketing.

Experience:
