Job Summary:
The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Senior Director Global Total Rewards will be responsible for collaborating as a thought leader to launch the Global Total Rewards Strategy and to build out the Global Total Rewards Center of Expertise, reporting to the VP HR Operations on the Global HR Operations Team. The individual in this role will lead a highly skilled Global Total Rewards team providing compensation, benefits, staff care and wellbeing support. This role will wo rk closely with our Global Human Resources and Overseas Operations Leadership Teams to build a Global Total Rewards practice delivering equitable, flexible and compliant total rewards solutions that reflect and facilitate agency strategy. S/he manages a talented team of professionals, as well as multiple external vendors, responsible for global total rewards for our operations in over 60 countries and in the US.
Roles and Key Responsibilities:
COMPENSATION
Effectively marries compensation and benefits to create a robust total rewards approach, actively and effectively communicated to all staff
Provides thought leadership and design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation on compensation-related policies and initiatives, linking programs to overall compensation philosophy, organizational performance, corporate culture and competitive talent acquisition and retention
Conducts, compiles and presents research, benchmark analysis and modeling to support design of market-competitive and motivational compensation programs that align with organizational values, goals and strategies
Determines, maintains and communicates compensation standards and parameters under which CRS Country Programs can set and manage market based local salary ranges that meet the needs of leadership in support of talent management requirements within agency strategy
Leads approach to executive compensation and staffs the compensation committee of the board, including validation of ranges through an outside consultant that includes an “intermediate sanctions” approach
Manages, develops and supports a team of Total Rewards professionals
BENEFITS AND WELL BEING
Working with an expert global benefits partner, sets a global total rewards strategy that includes a global minimum standard level of benefits worldwide
Oversees administration and development of health-related and retirement employee benefit plans, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, workers compensation programs and retirement
Determines, maintains and communicates benefit standards and parameters under which CRS Country Programs can set and manage local benefit packages
Partners with Finance to manage overall costs of benefits programs.
Vigorously manages benefit vendor relationships to ensure maximum relevance, appropriateness, cost-effectiveness and quality of services
Identifies, develops, maintains and implements staff learning resources and opportunities related to staff care, wellbeing, stress management, and work-life balance
Basic Qualifications
Master’s degree in relevant area of study
Minimum of ten years directly related experience in global, multi-state, multi-site organization(s), and proven history of director level team growth and development
Proven experience with setting total rewards strategy in a global setting
Proven experience designing, maintaining, and communicating market-driven compensation and benefits programs
Strong knowledge of US federal and state employment laws and global compliance requirements in the countries where we work
Strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying and quantifying complex problems and providing effective resolutions
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to work in a dynamic, rapid-changing environment by prioritizing situations which require sense of urgency
Comfort with ambiguity and ability to use sound judgement to drive complex issues to resolution and influence to achieve results.
Ability to apply high emotional intelligence to guide executives and leaders through compensation and performance complexities where influence and relationships are as important as data and logic
Experience with “duty of care” and compliance with these standards
USAID, UN and experience with other donors strongly preferred
Experience with total rewards in African nations

Ability to work well under pressure on multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to quickly establish credibility to partner effectively with business leaders and people team colleagues to define and deliver effective processes, data and programs that support business goals

Travel: At this time, travel when required. When feasible in the future, regular periodic travel to CRS headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland. This position could be remote with sufficient overlapping work hours with headquarters.
